Prerequisites
Before you can link your Generac generator with Mobile Link to your ecobee thermostat, there are a few prerequisites that you should be aware of:
- You must have a compatible ecobee thermostat
- Premium, Enhanced, ecobee3 lite, ecobee4 and ecobee smart thermostat with voice control

Linking Accounts
1. Login on the Mobile Link App
2. Click on the plus sign in top right corner
3. Click on the Link Ecobee thermostat
4. Click the blue next button
5. Enter in your ecobee credentials
6. Click Allow
7. You should receive an Ecobee email letting you know access has been granted as well a prompt on your thermostat showing it has been linked
- You can click the dismiss option on the thermostat
Note: Once you are linked you should see a new icon appear for the generator. This is a clickable option to bring up a pop up box. The color icon will indicate the current status. See example below.
Configuring Settings
Once you have integrated the two accounts together. Your thermostat should now show a new icon for the generator (or the Tank Utility) that you have linked. Click on that icon on your thermostat to verify you can now see the current status
If you click on the icon you should have the option to enable alert preferences. Click on that and then either select enable (or disable if you are turning off).
Troubleshooting
What happens if i am not seeing the ecobee thermostat i am looking to link?
- The thermostat may not be compatible. Please verify your thermostat is either a premium or enhanced. If you are not sure, please feel free to reach out to our team, we can assist in helping you determine which one you have
I have multiple thermostats in my home, am i able to link more than one thermostat?
- Currently only one thermostat can be linked with a Generator Mobile Link device
- If you have selected/linked the one you do not want. Please unlink and re-link to the desired thermostat
What happens if i do not see the link ecobee option in the app?
- Please verify you have the most recent/updated version of the app downloaded
