During the WIFI Setup you will be asked to enter the Home Owners WIFI Network password in during a connection attempt, in some scenarios, you may encounter the following message on your generator's display.
There are two reasons why you may receive this error message.
- The WIFI network password was entered incorrectly. To solve this, please verify the password and reattempt the connection process. Internet Service Providers tend to put a sticker on the side of the router with the password (keep in mind not all scenarios or providers) (If password was changed outside of the provider password that was set up, you will need to log into your router to determine password).
- The Wi-Fi signal strength is too weak to communicate. If the password was entered incorrectly, it may be because of a weak Wi-Fi signal prohibiting the generator from connecting to the network. In order to solve this, the wireless router may have to be relocated closer to the generator, alternatively, a Wi-Fi Signal Booster can be purchased and installed within range of the generator and router. a. Signal blockers (siding, number of walls, etc) can prohibit signal from reaching b. Router password (if longer) can be changed to make it shorter (can be done by logging into the routers admin page) to make it easier to transition the password that far based on signal and blockers
