Mobile Link cellular services are provided by our partner Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless has announced the plan to discontinue all CDMA cellular data services to 2G/3G cellular devices by December 31, 2022.
Note: Some of the Verizon partners may be disconnecting sooner than December 31st, so taking immediate action is highly recommended to avoid the loss of Mobile Link services.
Following Verizon Wireless' discontinuation of CDMA cellular data services on December 31st, 2022, all Mobile Link CDMA users will lose the ability to remotely monitor their generators and receive notifications through Mobile Link.
Note: Mobile Link CDMA subscriptions automatically renew as monthly service renewals (with the exception of New York and California where annual renewal subscriptions will continue to renew until the terms of the End User License Agreement are reviewed and approved). This is to minimize the impact on users that do not take action. Refunds will not be issued to customers who fail to upgrade from CDMA to either LTE or Wi-Fi service and lose service due to Verizon network terminations. Monthly subscriptions ensure the lowest possible impact on customers who choose not to upgrade.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The 7.5W PowerPact Generators are NOT compatible with the New Mobile LInk 4G/LTE device. Please verify a generator's model before purchasing a Mobile Link 4G/LTE accessory.
There are two ways to upgrade to the new LTE Device.
- Contact a dealer (recommended): Contact a local or preferred Generac Service dealer and request a CDMA to LTE upgrade. Generac Service Dealers will often offer a maintenance program, which can include the LTE device cost, installation, and Mobile Link subscription. A Generac Service dealer will typically handle all aspects of the device replacement process as well as all future service needs.
- Self-Installation: Consumers have the option to order the LTE device and upgrade themselves. The upgrade requires the purchase of an LTE device (link below), installation of the device, and updating the Mobile Link account to reference the new device by contacting Mobile Link Customer Support.

FINAL STEP for self-installers:
After installing the new 4G/LTE device, Mobile Link's Customer Support must be contacted to update the Mobile Link account to reference the newly installed device. Mobile Link Customer support can be reached at (855) GEN-VIEW / (855) 436-8439 or start a Live-Chat conversation here.
In order to perform the switch correctly, the Customer Support Team will need the MDN number from the CDMA device being replaced, and the serial number From the LTE LTE device. The location of the numbers is shown below
