An important part of connecting a Wi-Fi Enabled generator to a Wi-Fi network, is a process of ensuring the generator is "visible" and ready to be connected. This is similar to the process of making a Bluetooth device "visible" before it can be paired. The generator must be "visible" in order for an MLG network to be discovered. When a generator is "visible", the display on the generator with show "SETUP WIFI NOW!"
The process of making a generator "visible" and ready to be connected, depends on where you are starting from.
If you are connecting a generator from a "Ready to Run" state:
- On the generator, begin by pressing the ESCAPE button on the generators control panel to access the generator's main menu.
- Use the arrow keys to select the SETUP WIFI option, then press the enter key
- At the display SETUP WIFI?, use the arrow keys to select YES then press ENTER.
After a few moments, the screen will display SETUP WIFI NOW! An MLG network will now be available in your Wi-Fi network list.
Note: In some cases, before SETUP WIFI NOW! displays, you may see other messages such as SET TO AP. These messages are simply an indication that process is proceeding as expected. Do not be alarmed if this message is displayed for several moments.
If you are connecting a generator during the generator's installation and initial setup:
- Begin by powering on the generator, this is commonly done by attaching the battery for the first time.
- On the generator, the screen will start by displaying INSTALL WIZARD then automatically prompting for a language selection. Use the arrow keys to select the desired language, then press ENTER to continue.
- The control panel display will show SETUP WIFI? If necessary, use the arrow keys to select YES then press ENTER.
