The 3G cellular service that CDMA devices use will be discontinued by Verizon and it's partners by December 31, 2022. If you are wondering if you CDMA cellular service is still active, search the Verizon Coverage Map.
When you open the map, you will be presented with a few items.
- Search bar
- Choice between coverage options
- Enter your home address in the search field "Where do you need coverage?"; click search icon
- Click on CHANGE COVERAGE
- Click on 3G; then click the Radio button next to "3G/1X coverage"
- You can then click the arrow on the legend if it is not open and see if your home has 3G coverage. EXAMPLE: 123 Main Street, Waukesha, WI 53186; In this case, YES we have coverage. If it was BROWN for 1X then you no longer have 3G coverage.
If your generator location no longer has 3G coverage, then you will need to upgrade to an LTE to continue with Mobile Link connectivity. The great news is if you already are linked to a dealer, contact them as this would be a great time to discuss Dealer Managed programs they might offer.
